A more recent addition is the exquisite piece of artwork adorning the office wall. This colorful musical tapestry was made by Ellen VanLaar and was donated to the theater in 2016 by long time supporter Marian MacLeod. As you head into the first hallway you will find two small music studios. The first studio serves double duty as an office by day and a music studio by night complete with a spinet piano. The second studio houses a beautiful baby grand piano donated by the Bob Arfstrom family and is primarily a music studio and practice space. As you round the corner you can catch the insider view of two of the outside windows of the Soo Theatre complex. These windows contain displays of recent productions, decorations at the holidays and even live performance art at Halloween as they house our actor mannequins at our annual Haunted Theatre. This hallway takes you into the first of two small rehearsal rooms in the building, Studio C. This studio is decorated with colorful rugs to liven up the space for music classes, meetings and small performances. The rugs are portable for movement and acting classes and rehearsals. Sound panels were created and designed by volunteer Pam Stanaway and her husband Bob Zajkowski to absorb some of the sound in this live space. In addition to its regular class use, this delightful studio has housed many a production rehearsal, orchestra rehearsal and even a small recital and master class. The final studio can be accessed from a separate entrance on the street as well as through the central hallway of the theater lobby. Studio D was the home of Sault Realism for the first year of the Soo Theatre Arts Resource Studios. Now the large Soo Theatre logo hangs front and center in this cozy music and rehearsal studio. This is a busy room with weekly private music lessons, instrumental ensembles that pack the place wall to wall, and home to many day camps during the summer season.

As one year ends and another is primed to begin, some of us can, on occasion, be left with mixed emotions. Trepidation, anticipation and uncertainty in a back and forth ebb and flow, can negate any of the best well intentioned New Year’s resolutions. But time waits for no man and as one year goes into the next at the stroke of midnight each Dec. 31, we celebrate the rewards and failures we’ve already experienced while welcoming all those we have not yet lived to encounter. As a cancer survivor now entering my fifth year of remission, while distancing myself from the two primary stage three cancers that had initially sent me off the rails, I feel blessed. Art, specifically drawing, sketching and painting have been part of my identity since I was a preschooler who tried to win a prize by drawing an elephant for a Jon Nagy contest that I watched on our very limited television programming. From there I went on to win a classroom art contest when I was in Grade 3 and my piece was titled, The Teddy Bear’s Picnic. In hindsight I must say it was dreadful and the fellow I beat out had what I remember to be an engineering masterpiece. He was very, very unhappy. But the rest is history and I eventually added beading, embroidery, leatherworks, poetry, feature writing and art cards to my repertoire. I have a small, cozy studio in the historic Woolworth Building on Queen Street in Sault Ste. Marie. It is a working studio as opposed to a retail space, but you can let me know via text or appointment if you would like to visit me. I am still working as a registered nurse at Sault Area Hospital and as a clinical teacher in the nursing program at Sault College, so I would have to work my visit with you into my schedule.http://www.saultstar.com/2017/12/29/no-one-knows-what-future-holds-but-art-will-definitely-have-prime-place

Don't assume that solar energy involves full scale remodeling and ripping apart the roof. You will need to start with the outside lights and replace them with solar powered lights. These charge from the sun all day and shine at night.
Many solar panels appear to be attached to a home's roof permanently. But, panels that provide good electricity can be adjusted for seasons. Those in extreme temperatures may have a difficult time with this decision.
If you lease solar panels, be sure the contact can be transferred to your lease. Should you move some day, you may have to continue paying on the lease because you can't take the system with you. Having that transfer option can help you out of the contract and let the new homeowners enjoy its benefits.
If you're prepared to stick with the investment in the long run, solar energy systems are an outstanding means for saving money. The pay-off won't be complete for a few years into the future. Solar panels are not for people who move a lot or are just renting a home with no intention of staying.
There are many different types of solar energy systems including a panel system that tracks the sun. Thanks to this technology, your panels will automatically adjust their angle in relation to the position of the sun. The initial investment will be much higher than with a basic system, but they can generate many times the amount of energy through increased efficiency.
Track numbers when getting solar panels for the home. Depending on your location, the costs of solar panels will outweigh the potential output of your system. If you race into solar without looking into the data, you may be in for a bad surprise when the numbers really pan out.
What many people fail to understand is that solar energy systems allow you to avoid being hooked to the power grid. You can disconnect and be independent. This means you can say goodbye to monthly power bills.
Converting should be convenient. You may wish to begin with small appliances to avoid a major disruptive transition with your daily routine. Switching gradually helps you stick to it.
You can save our planet and improve the lives of future generations by switching to solar power. This article should have convinced you of how solar power can benefit you.
